Healthy Heart in Women: Make A 'Hearlthy Heart Switch'...Now!

The topic of healthy heart in women is ever interesting, thought provoking and intriguing. Dear woman, I wish you to be more dedicated to the issue at hand; not only to take positive steps towards reversing the trend of high mortality among women due to heart conditions, but also to enlighten the up-coming generation-both male and female. After all it is believed that “when you enlighten a man, it is for just a person; but when you enlighten a woman, it reflects on the larger community”-I hope it is so in this case.
I tell you, we are in an ultra dynamic world where new inventions are coming up everyday; every woman is entitled to living with healthy heart. Man has made a lot of achievements in various spheres of life resulting in easy access to (various channels of) information, modern methods of farming that can guarantee sufficient food (including fruits, vegetables and different kinds of animals) production. In addition, excellent medical facilities are now available in various parts of the world for detecting, diagnosing and treatment of different kind of diseases that used to be unattainable some years ago. It is obvious therefore that the first impediment to be overcome is ignorance! Check out this short story and see what you can make of it:
Lady Merlia, daughter of Chief Bezumendey a renown industrialist was well known for her elegance, affluence, beauty and probably a healthy heart- that was some years ago. At 32 and single, she had just assumed the mantle of leadership of her father’s multinational industrial conglomerate. Her father was being hospitalized in an orthopedic hospital far away in an overseas country due to injuries he sustained from a ghastly road accident in his favorite black Mercedes Benz 500 S E L sports. In the present world of glamour and automation, you need a healthy mind to sustain your healthy heart…
Merlia had so much work on her hand as she had to maintain their duplex home with an army of aides on one side and the gigantic workforce of her father’s industrial outfit on the other. At first, she seemed to be in perfect control. Then one day, she slumped at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company. If you are endowed with a healthy heart today, take good care of it.
      THE ULTIMATE SWITCH
She stirred up slowly after some hours on a hospital bed and the Doctor announced, ‘Lady, from the preliminary test conducted; there are indications that you have a weak heart, due to high blood pressure (!) Therefore, you need to take time off all those piles of duties of yours and take some rest. You must stop taking any alcohol henceforth and delegate at least 50% of your official duties to others whenever you return to work. Furthermore, you must restrain yourself from unnecessary expression of anger, hysteria or anxiety in order to make our medical treatment effective…’ She nodded slowly in acceptance. I see such development as a step of ‘healthy switch to a healthy heart!’

Healthy Heart in Women: ‘Mechanics‘of Healthy Heart

The topic of healthy heart in women is always quite inspiring and inexhaustible. Naturally, a woman is ‘ever busy’ on the home front, taking care of the household equipment and the kids on one side and responsible to the husband on the other hand. In fact, it is usual to refer to a lot of women (in their most active years) as ‘workaholic’ going by the enormity of duties they perform at home; which are also being mostly combined with other external undertakings like business activities or official duties. In essence, an average woman is always ‘on the move’ whether within or away from home!
The same thing goes with healthy heart, which remains ‘committed’ to its duties relentlessly. Though the average size of an adult’s heart is about two fists clenched together, the (life time) job it performs is astounding; even unimaginable! As long as you are alive, you can be considered to be a living being ‘in motion’ even when you are asleep (!) Did I hear you ask ‘how?’ Oh yes! Remember the non-stop traffic going on within your body system…generally referred to as ‘blood circulation’. Think of it, the process (of heart beats) started right from your embryonic form through the months of pregnancy and from your childhood to old age- that’s quite legendary! No matter how new or powerful a car may be the engine can not run successfully without a functional oil pump supplying oil to the engine as healthy and nutritious food.
Talking about healthy heart in women, I remember a lady colleague who suddenly fell ill a few years ago. We were taken unawares by the development. She had always been well known to be lively and bubbling with strength. However, she had been keeping a lingering (heart) problem she was encountering to herself until the situation became unbearable. She had been encountering difficulty in breathing at night hours and feeling uncomfortable lying down-whichever side tried to lie on. Both problems are symptoms that point to a breeding heart condition. So she resorted to the use of sleeping tablets! One carelessness too many! Though she was in her late twenties with just a kid, she was diagnosed with high cholesterol content in her body system which was accompanied with blood clotting, we were all shattered!
Before any concrete arrangement could be put up to save her life, she was gone! If you are known to be strong and excelling in a healthy physical activity like being an international athlete, a boxer, a soccer star, a wrestler, whatever-even a public speaker! It is possible courtesy of your healthy heart. I hope you remember that, at the time you are involved in a healthy physical activity, your heart beats faster and in essence pumps faster thereby pumping larger volume of blood to the parts in action, hand, leg, etc. So the issues of healthy activity, healthy and nutritious food consumption and making sure you confide in the experts (that is medical, in this case!) whenever there is an unusual development in your body system should be strictly observed and put into action- that, indeed is ‘mechanics’ of healthy heart!

Healthy Heart in Women-The Mega Heart Beats!

The discussion on healthy heart in women remains endless. It can only end when human race ceases to exist on the surface of the earth. While the brain serves as the ‘control tower’, the heart is indisputably the ‘power house’ of the body. Without mincing words, the power house supersedes the control tower in many aspects. Ordinarily, people whose brains stopped functioning rationally still live on, they remain as ‘living beings’ though with remarkable degree of invalidity.
However, no one can keep on existing without the heart-even for an hour! Any part of the body that suffers short supply of blood (being supplied by the healthy heart of course!) will certainly cease to function immediately. The irony of an average family is that the man (husband) could be likened to the ‘control tower’ of the family while the woman in the home can be likened to the ‘power house’ of the family; considering the enormity of her duties. You are entitled to your opinion-I’ve just expressed mine harmlessly!
The healthy heart has to keep pumping blood to ensure that the body lives on. The blood is the means of transporting digested food items from the small intestine with oxygen to all the tissues and organs of the body where they will be converted to energy for the use of the body (to promote growth, body protection, healing and replacement of damaged cells and tissues.) At the same time, many waste materials like carbon dioxide, nitrogen compounds and some others are hauled away from various body tissues to be ejected from the body.
Oxygen is a vital element that enhances the functions of the blood in the body. As the arteries transport the blood from the healthy heart, it is mixed with oxygen from the lungs before being distributed to all parts of the body through the capillaries, which constitute a gigantic network of microscopic tubes spreading all over the body. Eventually, they pass the blood to the veins which are bigger tubes like the arteries, to return the blood into the heart. Waste materials from various parts of the body are transported by the blood to the kidneys for ejection from the body while carbon dioxide is dropped into the lungs to be exhaled out of the body through the mouth and the nose.
The essence of making the above descriptions is to remind us of the fact that the blood being conveyed round the body is ever busy conveying one item or the other to the body while it also clears other ‘unwanted’ (waste materials) from various parts of the body. Women have more vital roles to play here in ensuring that only healthy food items are prepared for the family. They need to promote healthy heart by avoiding the intake of poisonous (poorly prepared and packaged) food and drinks which may have adverse effect on the heart. An average healthy heart of an adult beats about 70 times a minute. In a single day, the heart-beats take place over a hundred thousand times, you may call it ‘the mega- heart beats!’

Healthy Heart In Women:The Unbeatable Heart Beats!

The issue of healthy heart in women will continue to gain more prominence until such a time that the desired level of awareness is attained which will bring about remarkable turn-around as regards the present trend of heart conditions among the women folk. The internet offers mankind an excellent opportunity of accessing all necessary information on all life issues including the one involving healthy heart in women being discussed here now; in addition to other available information media. It is therefore imperative for those who have access to any information on the matter to help in passing it to others.
Have you ever wondered how the healthy heart has been able to maintain regular beats (known as heart-beats) on the average for a very long time (so many years, even decades and on rare occasions for over a century)?! I remember quite vividly how I used to gaze at my father’s pendulum clock many years ago as a child. Whenever I arrived home from (a nearby elementary) school, I used to head straight for the living room-to look at the (ever swinging) pendulum of the dazzling wall clock. However, it lasted for just a few years and the clock packed up! Today as I look back at those days (well over thirty years now!), I cannot but appreciate the fact that the same heart that I had at that time is the one still ‘swinging’ to keep my life on the move up till now, as  it is with every living creature on earth today…splendid!
The way the healthy heart always maintain regular heart-beats has posed serious puzzles to the experts for several decades. However, series of research have shown that the cells that make up the walls of the heart are quite different from all other cells of the body. They are capable of functioning under more severe conditions than what other normal body cells can endure.
Take note of the fact that before you were born, your tiny embryonic heart began to beat in a slow rhythm of its own before the nerves growing down the brain and spinal chord had been connected to it. Not only that, if you give the necessary care to your healthy heart; it is capable of maintaining regular beats (on the average) for up to eighty years or even more than that-I think that is unbeatable!!! “Only Nature could have designed such an unbeatable wonder machine!” declared an expert. Dear woman, if you are equipped with such a wonderful healthy heart, I think you ought to do the best you can to support it to serve you well.
Ever heard of the word ‘saturated fat’? It is described as a dietary fat that may increase the risk of heart disease. If you have to take such food item, you should do so moderately while you balance it with other food items with low fat contents. Some food items that contain saturated fat include: butter, poultry skin, meat, shortening, lard and dairy products; except the fat-free versions. So, check it out women, help your healthy heart to keep on with the unbeatable heart-beats now and always!

Healthy Heart in Women: The 'Healthy Example' from The Heart

The more you talk of healthy heart in women, the more intriguing you are; wanting to know one new aspect of the matter or the other. However, it is obvious that such a topic can not be overlooked in the social, economic and the scientific terrains of the society; more so as glaring facts and figures are coming forth to the knowledge of a wider section of human populace.
You keep wondering, why people have to die of a heart disease or heart attack considering the fact that a healthy heart is designed to be very powerful and durable. It is a wonder pump built of tough materials that do not break down easily. Its muscles are different in the way they are put together; they are more durable than any other muscle tissue of the body. No other organ of the body works as hard and as long as the heart.
I can see a convincing similarity in the way the healthy heart operates and women’s activities especially at the home front. They work tirelessly and stay awake longer than most other members of the family. As long as you are alive, the heart never stops working, even when you are asleep. It has enormous reserve powers to meet any crisis situation that may arise; that is, emotional fluctuations. Times of anger, excitement, disappointment or panic all make the heart to perform extra task of beating (pumping) faster so as to supply enough blood to sustain the body in time of crisis. Apart from the relentless caring for the family, women are also recognized as having more tender ‘heart’ (tender mind; really), whereby in most cases, they find it easier to forgive anyone who offended them and let go the matter than their male counterpart.
So what are we really driving at here? Oh yes! The less the grip you maintain on matters arising in your day-to-day life, the better off you are; learn to ‘let go and let God’ (as they say). I tell you, many people need to be reminded time and time again that we live only one life, which is the reality!
Now let us take a snappy look at this scenario: The healthy heart itself is an undisputable example of forbearance, endurance and all such qualities of that nature. It works on and on without thinking of taking a rest like ‘others’ (hands, legs, eyes, mouth, etc) realizing that the life of the whole body depends on its ability to keep on the ‘beats’. The same way, I am calling on women who are helping in spurring on the society; to keep on bracing the challenges with more courage, cheerfulness and optimism. However, you must take some rest and relax always, the point I’m trying to make here is that you keep on doing your best always with less agitation and acrimony. The ‘example of the heart’ here is a sure way to a healthy heart!

Healthy Heart in Women: The 'Heart' of The Matter

The need for women to rise to the challenge of attaining healthy heart conditions can not be over-emphasized. The need is more pertinent as experts reveal that more women die of heart problems than men each year; and the situation is continuing unabated! It is a serious situation which should not be allowed to linger on. I wish to ask you, as a woman; how do you feel learning about such heart-rending facts concerning women and their heart conditions? Do you feel indifferent? Unconcerned or deeply touched? Whichever the case may be, we are all facing the reality that can not be denied.
Issues concerning the heart always involve mentioning of some ‘technical’ terms, which are used to identify those internal body organs working together with the heart. You really don’t need to rack your brain in an effort to grab such technical (medical) terminologies. Rather, you only need to understand the basics of maintaining healthy heart-observe it and enlighten others!
The healthy heart is a powerful pump solely responsible for circulating the life-wielding fluid (blood) round the whole body system. Flowing under low pressure, blood from all parts of the body returns to the right side of the heart from where it is pumped into the lungs. At that point, the life fluid is equipped with a fresh supply of oxygen (from the lungs) while the carbon dioxide content is dropped. Now the fully oxygenated fluid changes to a bright red color, passing to the left side of the heart and from that point; it is pumped to all parts of the body under high pressure. The total time involved in one complete cycle is less than 20 seconds!
In essence, the activities of the healthy heart involve three major variables: i) The heart which is the (powerful) ‘pump’ ii) The arteries, veins and the tiny capillaries which constitute the ‘pipes’ and iii) The fluid itself which can not flow on its own except with the help of the pump and the pipes. To maintain a healthy heart condition, the pump (the heart) must find it easy to receive the fluid from the pipes and to send it out without hindrance or blockage within any of the pipes. Heart problems usually start whenever there is a blockage in any of the channels.
Blockages could result from taking unhealthy diet, lack of regular (physical) exercise and poor living habits (smoking, drugs and alcoholism, etc). Talking of healthy diet, there are two major dimensions from which it can be viewed. The 1st aspect is to eat what is good for your body while the second aspect has to do with what can be referred to as ‘moderate eating.’ No doubt, many women are known for their uncontrollable eating habits. It is a matter that requires a considerable level of self discipline. That is the ‘heart of the matter.’ Think very well about it and work hard towards facilitating a healthy heart today!
